Foreign Passengers in Transit to China from a Third Country May Need to Take COVID-19 Nucleic Acid Test

Foreign passengers leaving for China from the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau and the Republic of the Marshall Islands via a third country (see list of countries) that requires COVID-19 negative certification of nucleic acid test should take a test at designated institutions recognized by the Chinese Embassy in the FSM within 3 days before departure and email attached documents to the Embassy for an approved Health Declaration Form.


Application documents:

1. Scanned copy of passport information page

2. COVID-19 negative result of nucleic acid test

3. Signed health declaration (see attachment)


Designated institutions:

FSM: To be confirmed

Palau: Belau National Hospital

RMI: To be confirmed


It takes at least one business day to process the health declaration form. After approval, the scanned copy of the health declaration will be emailed back to the passenger and needs to be printed out and carried throughout the journey. The health declaration is valid within 3 days starting from the issuance of the nucleic acid test report. Passengers are advised to transit before it expires, and be prepared for checking by the airlines before each boarding.
