Ambassador Li Jie Held Farewell Reception

On April 11, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China held farewell reception for H.E. Ambassador Li Jie. More than 100 distinguished guests, including Acting President Yosiwo George, Speaker Wesley Simina, several cabinet members and senators, Ambassadors of US and Japan to the FSM attended the reception.

In his speech, Ambassador Li Jie made a retrospect of his work in the past three years and the development between China and the FSM in high level visits, economic and technical cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. He pointed out that the FSM is in the right track to prosperity and there are big potentials of cooperation between the two countries. He was deeply impressed by the culture and scenery of the FSM and will cherish the friendship forever.

On behalf of the FSM government, Acting President George expressed gratitude for the outstanding contribution made by Ambassador Li Jie to promote bilateral relations, as well as the social and economic development of the FSM. The FSM will continue to deepen various cooperations with China. He wishes Ambassador Li Jie, a true friend of the FSM, all the best in his future diplomatic career.
