Requirements for Visa Application

To apply for a visa, you may either come to our office in person; or you may entrust someone else to come and submit the applications on your behalf; or you can send visa applications to the Embassy through mail.

Please be noted that: previous Chinese citizens who have obtained foreign citizenship are required to present their Chinese passports, when applying for Chinese visas for the first time. Children under 12 years old with Chinese origin, should provide the original and photocopy of their birth certificates and the passports of both parents.

In accordance with international convention, we reserve the rights to ask for any additional supporting materials or to reject any application without explanations.

No appointment is necessary for visa application.

Regularly it takes 4 business days to process. Expedited services take 1 or 2 business days, for which an extra fee of 20 or 30 dollars will be charged.

Visas for Tourism and Family Visits

Basic Requirements:

1. Your current passport with at least 6 months of validity and at least one blank visa page.

2. One truthfully completed and signed Visa Application Form, and one new passport photo.

If necessary, we may require you to provide additional information to support the application, such as an invitation letter, air tickets, etc.

Visas for Business Visit

Basic Requirements:

1. Your current passport with at least 6 months of validity and at least one blank visa page.

2. One truthfully completed and signed Visa Application Form, and one new passport photo.

3. Invitation letters from Chinese governments, companies or other organizations.

If necessary, we may require you to provide additional information to support the application, such as air tickets, the travel itinerary, etc.

Student Visas

The Student Visa has two Types: X-visas issued to those who are going to study in China for over 6 months, and F-visas for those who are going to study in China for no more than 6 months.

Basic Requirements:

1. Your current passport with at least 12 months of validity and at least two blank visa pages.

2. One truthfully completed and signed Visa Application Form, and one new passport photo.

3. Form JW201 or JW202 issued by the Chinese Ministry of Education, and the admission letter from the university or other institutions in China.

If necessary, we may require you to provide additional information to support the application.

The holders of X-visas are required to go through procedures for obtaining the residence permit in the local public security bureau within 30 days of entry.
